Did you
know? The average life expectancy of a single walled steel underground storage tank (USTs) is 10-20 years! When looking for potential contamination risks on a site, USTs come up high on the priority list. They can cause both on-site and off-site contamination of soil and groundwater due to leaks and spills, hold unknown contents (i.e. petroleum and other hazardous substances) and may not be recorded on site plans. Information gets lost overtime….. wouldn’t it be great to get more easily accessible information on these? We have been busy digitising the location of >10,000 USTs across the nation. While current and historic service stations are an obvious source, we are also capturing tank locations from other industries. Our database is increasing daily as we capture new information and may help you assess the type of contaminants present, sources and allow for safer design of intrusive field works. |
The data is now covered nationally and is reported in every Enviro-Screen and Contamination Setting Report (CSR).
